தமிழகத்தில் வடகிழக்குப் பருவமழை தொடங்கியதில் இருந்து பரவலாக பெய்துவருகிறது. அனைத்து பகுதிகளிலும் பருவமழை இயல்பைவிட அதிகமாகவே பதிவாகி இருக்கிறது. அதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக நேற்று முன்தினம் முதல் மீண்டும் தமிழகத்தில் கடலோர மாவட்டங்கள் உள்பட சில இடங்களில் மழை பெய்துவருகிறது.
அதன்படி, தஞ்சாவூர், திருவாரூர், நாகப்பட்டினம், கடலூர், விழுப்புரம், செங்கல்பட்டு, காஞ்சீபுரம், சென்னை, திருவள்ளூர் ஆகிய 9 மாவட்டங்கள், புதுச்சேரி மற்றும் காரைக்காலில் ஓரிரு இடங்களில் கன முதல் மிக கனமழையும், கடலோர மாவட்டங்களில் பெரும்பாலான இடங்களில் மிதமான மழையும், உள் மாவட்டங்களில் சில இடங்களில் மிதமான மழையும் பெய்யக்கூடும். தஞ்சாவூர் உள்ளிட்ட மேற்படி 9 மாவட்டங்களில் நிர்வாக ரீதியாக மிக கன மழைக்கான ஆரஞ்சு அலர்ட் விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
